SDMA School Board

How to Follow the SDMA School Board

"The Board of Education of the Menomonie Area School District meets on the SECOND MONDAY OF THE MONTH. Meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Administrative Services Center (ASC/Board Office) located at 215 Pine Avenue NE, in Menomonie, Wisconsin.

The Board of Education also meets as a Committee of the Whole on the FOURTH MONDAY of every month at 5:30 p.m. Agenda posting procedures are the same as for regular board meetings.

Agendas are posted on the Thursday prior to the meeting, but REVISIONS may occur. Please check at least 24 hours before the meeting for revisions to the agenda. Regular meeting agendas are published in Dunn County News in the Saturday edition prior to the meeting; however, due to timeline constraints, the agenda is subject to change.

Dates, times, and locations are subject to change. The date, time, and location are indicated at the top of every agenda. Agendas are posted at Menomonie High School, Menomonie Middle School, all district elementary sites (when school is in session), the Administrative Services Center, and the Menomonie Public Library.

Meetings of board-appointed committees are posted at least 24 hours in advance of the committee meeting. You may check the school district online calendar for dates, times, and locations."

There is now, also, a subscribe button where you can receive agendas by email.

This link will get you some of the documents discussed at the meetings. Click on "Main Governing Board" in the upper right hand corner.

Meetings are sometimes videotaped by community member Steve Hanson for his www.Wis.community website and are available on youtube.

How to attend a SDMA school board meeting

Meetings are open to the public. Your only chance to speak is if you sign up for the "Community Communications" time on the agenda before the meeting. Then you can say whatever you want about anything you want, whether or not it is on the agenda. However, no discussion of the matter is allowed from the school board members on non-agenda items.

Photography, recording and video-taping IS permitted at regular meetings, except, of course, when in the "closed session" portion of the agenda.
